The first just the sounds of the door, with both the thud of closing the door and some creaks as it opens again, and the second with the addition of a rhythm made with wooden spoons. Sony dvp-s530d cd/dvd player. A couple of takes of the disc tray being gently pushed closed. The first take includes the sound of the player spinning up a disc. After spending a weekend putting together a giant wardrobe (from everyones favourite swedish furniture store) for my girlfriend i thought i should reward myself by making some recordings of it. This is a close mic recording of the sliding door, i followed the top of the door (where there was the most interesting sound) the full length of the wardrobe as i opened/closed the door. For this recording i used my sennheiser mkh416 going into a sound devices mp-1 preamp and recorded to a tascam dr-680.

I closed my bedroom window, popped a shotgun mic in the middle of the room and recorded the ambiance while it was drizzling outside. Hope this helps in anyway.

It's a recording of sounds of an old store refridgerator. The recorder (zoom h2) was put into the fridge and door closed. You can here the varying tempo of the compressor working, it's a characteristic cound that leaves a mark in your mind (especially if you listen to it for a long time). Found a big bush covered in white flowers with loads of bees buzzing all over it. Some good buzz noises here but unfortunately quite a bit of mic handling noise and the sound of the leaves brushing against the mic as i pushed it in close to try and stir up the bees a bit. Luckily i didn't get stung!.

Walking through my local woods , on the lizard peninsula, cornwall, mainly birds with loud bees. I had the mic on a selfie stick and was holding it close to the bees, the birds were loud still.

An up-close recording of a single cricket chirping. I recorded this with a shure beta 57a microphone, at my house, with the mic a few inches away from one of my housemate's crickets (don't ask). I used cubase and izotope denoise to remove noise artifacts, as well as a low-cut to remove unwanted low freqs. Recorded in mono but exported in stereo, so both the left and right audio channels are the same.

I recorded the sound of my wooden, squeaky screen door opening and then bouncing shut with a couple bangs. You can hear the squeak of the hinges as the door is opened, then again as it starts to close. The stretching and retraction of the spring is slightly noticeable. The door bounces a couple times as it closes, and you can also hear the latch rattling at this time. Recorded with audacity on my computer using a cheap, hand-held piezo mic. Recording of a door being opened and closed, and then opened and closed again. Very slight footsteps (on carpet) can be heard. The microphone (sennheiser mkh-50) was intentionally placed about 5 feet away from the door so as to capture some of the natural room sound/reverb (which is very subtle). I have another recording available of the exact same door and mic setup, but aimed slightly off-axis to capture just a bit more room sound. Recorded into a tascam 208i audio interface and into adobe audition. Very minor processing (low-cut at 80hz to remove low-freq rumble).
